About Me
I am Liz Kelly, an IGC-accredited Career Guidance Counsellor based in Carlow, specialising in Leaving Cert subject choice, CAO applications, apprenticeships, and psychometric testing for secondary school students.
With over 10 years of experience working with students in second-level schools and further education, I know first-hand just how overwhelming navigating school can feel. I hold a Master's degree in Guidance and Counselling from Trinity College Dublin, a Bachelor of Arts (BA) from Technology University Dublin, and certifications in Occupational and Psychometric Testing (Level A/Level B). It's the thousands of conversations I've had with real students and their parents, in all kinds of situations, that have shaped the way I work.
One of the things I'm passionate about is helping students find their feet when it comes to study skills, motivation, and managing the stress that comes with school life. So many young people are incredibly capable but simply haven't yet found a routine or approach that works for them.
Through one-on-one sessions, open conversations, and practical skill-building, I help students explore their options and build the confidence to take their next step — whatever that looks like for them.
I'm proud to be a member of the Institute of Guidance Counsellors, the British Psychology Society, and the Teaching Council, and I'm committed to keeping my practice fresh, evidence-based, and genuinely student-centred.
Whether you're weighing up an apprenticeship, considering going to university or just trying to get through the school year in one piece, I'm here to help you find a path that's right for you.
